Perth City in the background

30/8/2015

We did some groceries shopping at IGA South Perth earlier in the morning before heading to Perth CBD to get contact lens solution for my sis. After the thrilling driving sensation around the CBD (Central Business District) we straightly went to the Kings Park. It is an iconic, must visit place if you come to Perth.

Actually the park is pretty huge and has a lot of places to explore and best to enjoy nature. Just google about it and you will easily find the information. I just strolled along the park where the war monument is situated. Apparently Mama couldn't enjoy this place that much because it requires a lot of walking. Kasihan ibuku sakit lutut...

We snapped as many photos as we could as the scenery is very very beautiful. I miss that cloudy and clear sky. Some photos are not suitable for public view though hehehe..just keep it safely for my eyes.

Haritu time Encik Khairul minta carikan tempat makan dim sum aku ada suggest this place tapi at last kami pi Quality Hotel. Tiba-tiba Jumaat malam Nazirah bagi soalan cepu mas pasal Dolly Dim Sum tanya dah pernah try ke tak. Apa lagi..acara Jalan-Jalan Cari Makan bersama rakan makan pon bermula!!

Pepagi Ahad ku buat reservation, table for two sementara tunggu geng syif malam layan tido sampai kenyang. Owh ya, Akak & family serta Ezam mai sat pagi tu pujuk mama pegi klinik. Dah demam 4 hari tak kebah2. Aku sorang pujuk pi klinik tak jalan. Takut denggi ke apa. Pi klinik cek darah kompem bukan denggi tapi darah ada kuman. So Dr. bagi abx dan ubat demam.

Mama kata nak makan bubur so pi Mc'D beli. Lepas semua balik ku masak bubur nasi lagi partner ngan ikan keli bakar tinggal kat mama. Aku nak kluar pulak untuk memenuhi social & networking obligation. Gittewww...

Maka bersantaplah kami berdua di Dolly dengan penuh perasaan hahaha..sedap memang gred A lah tapi price on higher side, takleh makan selalu nanti poket bocor. Kami plan nak try buffet dim sum China Treasures pulak di Sime Darby Convention Centre tapi tu pon setelah mencapai target biggest loser sesama rakan makan nanti. Insya Allah.

Pastu kami try foot + back, neck, shoulder massage kat Erawan Wellness Massage. Tempat ni bagus kerana ia sunyi. Nak relax dan menikmati picitan memang terbaik. OK sekian cerita hari Ahad saya yang menyeronokkan. Productive week ahead. Tata.

Perth 5D4N: Memandu di Perth

Toyota Corolla Ascent Sedan 1.8

Handling smooth. Minyak save sangat-sangat.

Merata jugak ku pandu mu sekeliling Perth.

Harga Simpack AUD25.

Pastu dia offer Corolla tambah AUD5 sehari. Aku dah calculate tak la mahai sangat tapi aku nak yaris aku nak yaris. Nampak tak kepala degil yaris aku. Tanya la kaunter Budget ke ape lagi semua takdak Yaris. Nyaris tak dapat kereta ada sebab lepas tu ada 1 uncle ni punya lama kat kaunter Hertz dah aku kena tunggu dia pulak.

Potong la adegan mengarut ni semua aku pon swipe AUD417 (deposit AUD100) untuk sewa Corolla tu 4 hari. Kereta tu AUD27 tapi insurans AUD29/day.

Walau pun keretaku gagah membiru
Tidak boleh dipandu laju
Berkali ku tekan brek takut melulu
Tiket saman bakal menghiris kalbu

Pantun pulak ewah!

Lepas beli barang dapur tengok polis tengah saman kete tak bayar parking/tamat tempoh. Punya la polis tu ambik gambar kete bersalah tu macam jurugambar pro. Serius sungguh kesalahan tak bayar tiket parking tersebut.

Then acara paling tensi masa nak cari contact lens solution akak kat Murray Street. Akak ngan Kamilia pergi  farmasi tinggal aku ngan mama dalam kete. Mama dah sah2 tak boleh jadi navigator. Aku pulak pegang phone. Sikit2 je. Sebab nak navigate jalan mana reti. Kalau Bukit Bintang/Sultan Ismail/KLCC ok la pejam sebelah mata pon takpe. Dah tu tak boleh sukati benti tepi jalan. Dua kali pusing tak dapat jumpa akak n Kamilia. Aku dah mula stressado campur gabra.

Haaa..kat sini dia pandai. Masa nak sewa kereta dia mintak credit card details. Saman nanti charge je kat kad. Mood aku dah macam ke laut masa tu. Tapi ku tabahkan hati terus memandu ke King's Park.

Petang tu lepas drop Kamilia kat office kami ke Fremantle and Cottesloe Beach. Berjaya sampai dengan bantuan Google Map. Balik petang tu tiba-tiba boot Corolla tak boleh tutup pulak. Call Hertz dah abis waktu bekerja. Esoknya call dia suruh datang airport tukar kereta. Satu kerja pulak kan. Dapat Pulsar then drive pergi Araluen tengok tulips.

Terseksa kot jalan lurus, besar 4 lorong bawak 60km/j. Tu belom 40/20/5 km/j. Aku tak tipu la..ade! The good thing is kalau bagi je signal automatik kereta belakang yang tengah laju bagi kite masuk. Kalau kat Malaysia, lagi signal lagi cucuk.

All in all it was a great experience dapat memandu di sebuah negara maju. Minda kena tune, hati kena sabar sebab bukan senang nak lari daripada kebiasaan.

Owh ya bila balik check bill kad semua OK tanpa ada saman. Alhamdulillah syukur dan berbaloi kena brainwash. Thanks Kamilia, susah2 je :p

See you guys in the next entry.

Perth 5D4N: The Journey

Akak was trying to selfie with abang-abang pilot

29/08/2015

Finally the day has come for us to embark our much anticipated journey to Perth, the orang putih land. Abang Pozi n Akak arrived Sri Gombak at 6.30 a.m. to fetch mama n myself. Traffic to KLIA was so smooth and the morning calmness seemed to fade away once we reached KLIA. That morning, KLIA was so packed with long weekend travelers. I've done web check in 2 days before flying but I still have to queue to drop our luggage. And it took me one and half hour just to do that.

Mingling, chatting with fellow travelers who were queuing up in front and behind me about this and that. In front of me was a lady from Felda Travel who was sending MTCP audit course participant back to Myanmar. While behind me was a family of 3 person who were traveling to Melbourne. This uncle migrated from Malaysia to Australia in year 1994. He said the procedures, rules and regulations to migrate were quite lenient back then, but nowadays Australian Government is more strict on this matter. I started to visualize about moving to Australia and get the Permanent Resident status while chatting with him. Wah berangan sangat!

I dropped all the bags and we were good for boarding time. As mama was on the wheelchair, we passed all the checkpoints in the fast lane. Bliss. In flight experience was pleasant with smooth take off, good f&b and landing. I filled up the arrival cards for 3 of us and prayed for a smooth custom clearance in Perth Airport.

Unfortunately 2 out of 3 luggage that we checked in did not arrive in Perth. I was in panic attack but thanks to my sister who always in calm and take it easy mode. I just proceed to the missing luggage counter and reported about our case.

Then we were given a paper and being told that somebody will call us within 24 hours to update about the missing luggage. While outside at the arrival hall, Kamilia has been waiting for us for quite a while. We passed the custom hassle free and no dog was involved in the process.

Me and Kamilia sipping some hot drinks
at 6000 Acres while waiting for our car

Meet and greet was done. We have not seen each other for years, oi serius lama betul. Hertz Car Rental counter was closed for 30 minutes and I couldn't collect the car. I booked for Toyota Yaris and it was not available. The same segment car which are available was Mitsubishi Mirage. Owh dear! What a small car. We have big big passengers from Malaysia huhuhu..so I've got to add AUD5 per day for an upgrade to a Toyota Corolla. I will elaborate further on driving in Perth in next entry. We reached Kamilia's house safely in Onslow Street, South Perth at 6pm. Kamilia prepared a lovely dishes of ayam masak kicap and sambal udang with nasi putih for dinner. Thanks Kamilia, susah2 je :p

30/8/2015

This is the missing luggage. Delivered to Onslow Street at 8 pm. I am working on to get some compensation from MAS (already logged a complaint) and filling some insurance claim form for delayed baggage.

Owh ya, my crib for the next 4 nights in Perth. Pinkish, warm and cozy.

Perth 5D4N : The Preparation

I've got the Malaysian passport quite late at the age of 31 years old. I've visited Singapore, Krabi, Bali, Bandung, Hatyai and Jakarta since then. Australia and other developed countries have always been a dream destination for me.

With all the curiousity and doubtfulness I booked 3 tickets to Perth for mama, akak and myself in last March. At that time MAS was having some promotion for MATTA Fair. We got a good bargain of RM972/pax for return ticket. Owh ya, before clicking at any date I asked my friend, Kamilia about the best time to visit Perth.

Finally I chose 29/8 - 2/9 to visit Perth as it will be the end of winter while spring is in the air! I love it when it's sunny but the wind is cold and breezy. Since Perth will be in low temperature during our visit, we have to be well equipped with thermal wear. Below are my heattech socks (RM 39.90/2 pairs) and thermal wear (RM 49.90) from Uniqlo. I bought the glove from Daiso, just RM 5. I just recycle my red jacket also from Uniqlo which I always wear in my freezing cold office.

5 months passed by in no time. I went through a hectic schedule as I was juggling between work and my postgraduate study.

Hence this trip will be a reward for my months of hard work and late night revision.

The plan was like this:

Accomodation - Kamilia's house
Transport       - Hertz Car Rental
Itinerary        - TBA by Kamilia

I started making some research on visiting Perth after I finished my 1st semester final exam in June. Mr. Google has always been a friend of mine. Thanks to Malaysian Bloggers who precisely jotting down every single experience in their blogs. Thanks to Kamilia who had been consistently answering my Whatsapp messages despite her tight schedule in Perth. Susah2 je :))

Besides, I studied some maps which Yan @ Red Kebaya brought back from Perth.  Also not forgetting all those night chatting with Sheikh Ismardi Ismail just to ease my worried mind prior to this trip. Bear with me..this is just the beginning.
